Day 26 - Vero Beach, Florida - Las Vegas

We had an early start today - up at 5.30am. We said our goodbye's and were on the road by 6.20am. I drove - and it rained (again)! Unfortunately the tires were quite worn on the vehicle and it became a bit tricky at times let me tell you! It was a relatively good trip though we stopped at Ft. Lauderdale and got our drive away deposit back. Had breakfast there and then on the road again. We drove through Miami one last time and then headed to the airport for another 5 hour flight which went fine.

We had to circle Las Vegas once due to landing issues - but no great problem. Had trouble getting a hire car - but finally found one through a lovely lad at 'Dollar". Well priced and our choice of mid-sized vehicle. It was great and we now have a 'Dodge Stratus'. It's great. We got out of the airport and on the road quite easily.

We were blown away by the poker machines in the Airport!!!!

This is looking back to LV at night.

It is just amazing country here. We didn't get to the very centre of Las Vegas. The roads are awesome - the landscape is barren and the houses are all very much the same. The sunset was spectacular. We got to Kingman and found a Motel - we'll explore in the morning.
