Day 19 - Naigara Falls, Ontario, Canada - Toledo, Ontario, USA

Today was our last day at Niagara. WE started it late - just in time for breakfast - then we did some emails and headed to the bird paradise. It was so good and we spent a leisurely 2 hours there.

Here are some of the views on our travels....

Then our last meal together at Niagara Falls

Then we headed back to our room and packed and rested until 6pm. We checked out, left our luggage and walked around then came back and had a final drink at the Hilton before we headed off - on foot - to the bus. We made it after walking for an hour and seeing the most spectacular view of the falls at night - beautifully lit.

And some of the local streets at night

We caught a bus to Buffalo and then a bus to Amtrak. Had fabulous drivers and some really friendly passengers - however the wait at the bus stop wasn't the best. I felt quite nervous a number of times. Got to the train station just on time to check in our luggage only to find the train was an hour late! We ended up chatting with a couple from Detroit and that filled in what ended up being a 2 hour delay. We got on the train at 2am! My nervous moments were when we got over the border from Canada to the US and there were people carrying brown bags with bottles in them 'hanging' around the bus stop - thankfully we saw a Police car moving around also. We also had another moment when we were at another bus stop - but that was averted fairly easily - just someone wanting money. Mind you - all of this is late at night - that's probably what made it scary. The wait for the train was made worse also - when I put my luggage in to be weighed and the man on the other end made some nasty comment about the weight - I had a joke with him about me being a female and he proceeded to almost literally 'throw' the suitcase back at me and tell me to 'lose' some of the weight of it. Not an unfair request - but very, very poorly delivered!....especially when I was tired too :)
